Dear Norm & Kathy Please accept my condolences on the loss of your sister Joan. I had many wonderful visits with Joan over the years when her and Florence would come to town by taxi, her smile could light up a room or two. Even after the loss of Mother, Joan always made a point of saying hi to me whenever I was at Willowdale. I will miss her dearly.

Lanark Lodge is my home, and whenever Joan would come into visit her mother, she brought the sunshine in with her! she was a very considerate person. Whenever we would meet she would enquire as to my health. Sincere sympathy in the passing of Joan. May it be of comfort that she brightned the lives of many people, and that she is now in eternal peace with Florence. Sincerely, Debbie Wilson

MaryLee and I have been shocked at the news of Joanie's passing. It seems like only a few weeks ago that Joyce and Joanie were at the Roosteraunt for lunch. Joanie has always been special to me as a friend who always had a smile no matter the time of day or the circumstance. When early in my career with EBI and while visiting the farm on a call, I would usually see Joan either hanging out the wash or just come to the garden gate to wave hello or goodbye during my visit. I was always amazed that no matter how long since I had last seen Joan (and there were times when it was years) Joan always remembered my name and had a smile for me. What a treasure she has been. To Joyce and Norm and families, our sincere condolences are sent at the loss of such a truly wonderful family member. I regret we are unable to pay our respects in person but please know that we are thinking of you at this time. Sincerely, Kieth Drummond

I first met Joan when she moved to Hilltop Manor where I visit the residents as a volunteer. She and I had several interesting conversations and I was struck by how important her family were to her. I was enjoying getting to know her and was extremely saddened to hear she had passed away last Saturday. I send my deepest sympathy to all Joan's family. Jocelyn Rait
