Uncle Bob is with us always. You would miss him at first glance in this Ottawa Senators photo, but you would agree that he was also front and centre in the lives of those who loved him faithfully. He had the trust of players and fans alike, as he drove the bus to countless hockey games. He was my mother’s baby brother. They lived to love and help others and Grandma Boldt would have it no other way for her seven industrious children. In my barber chair he shared his family victories, triumphs, losses and challenges and took it all in stride, never dipping too low or flying too high. Yesterday’s full house at Blair and Son Smith’s Falls Chapel is a testament to how well loved he was in return. The uplifting service had us giggling through the tears and raising our voices in beautiful harmony. Sharing a delicious meal with cousins, left us feeling the love and a new appreciation for our kind and caring family. Special thanks to the peaceful and compassionate spirit of the Minister who guided us through our last visit with Uncle Bob. The hardest part of love is letting go but I will now carry the image of Uncle Bob holding the rope while Aunt Delta gathered the greenery at the bottom of the hill.

To the family of Bob, My sincerest condolences to you on the loss of Bob! I knew him and some of you when you lived at the top of my street, Churchill Crescent, in a C&B-owned house, when he worked at C&B Motors. I delivered newspapers, and remembered Bob as a really friendly, and overall-nice guy. May you be comforted by the support of family and friends, and by fond memories of your time together! Don Cooper, Kingston, Ont.

In sincere condolences to Delta and Family in the passing of Bob. Always a pleasure to greet Bob when grocery shopping and at the Arena cheering on the hockey games. A very social and friendly man. Praying God will give you comfort and peace during these sad and difficult days.

Sending our deepest condolences to Aunt Delta’s and all of the family. “Uncle Bobby” always accepted us as family even though we were related to his sister-in-law, Lorna (McCullough) Boldt. He was always smiling and giving hugs! So sorry we will not be able to attend his funeral, but will be there in spirit.
