John was my friend, we grew up on the same street in Ottawa's west end. We were neighbors on Killeen Avenue. He would take me to the Knockeen Farm in Aylmer to watch him train and after I got to hotwalk his pony called Prince and then Miss Beaufort the horse that I loved. John was dedicated and loved his work along with just being a wonderful human being. He will be missed. My sincere condolences to his family. RIP.

John was my respected and admired colleague and friend for many years. I remember admiring him as a rider in the late 60s at 60s at Kanata Riding Club when he rode his beautiful grey Chopnik. He did so much for horses , he will never be forgotten. I am filled with a great sadness at his loss and wish to extend my deepest sympathy to all his family. Sincerely , Helen Douglas

Dear Linda, his daughters, and Dr. John’s entire extended family we wish to share our deepest sympathies on the loss of John. For my sister and I, when we started in this industry as young professionals 30 years ago John not only made us feel welcome he gained our trust right from the first visit. Dr. John, as we called him, was an amazing individual who we saw as an ethical, intuitive veterinarian whom we respected not only as a vet, but as a true horseman and as a person. We considered him a friend and we always knew he placed the best interest of the horse first and foremost. We have many fond memories of his visits, his sense of humor, and his unwavering dedication to the care of horses. Dr. John was an incredible horseman who always went above and beyond for his clients and the horses he cared for. He was a legend in the industry with an impeccable reputation as a top veterinarian and as a person. He will be greatly missed by the industry and the people in it. Tracy and Colleen Howard

My sympathies to Linda and the Atack Family. I have so many fond memories of John as my trusted vet. I owe so much to him. He and Linda supported Wesley Clover Parks during our first competitions and I will forever be grateful for that endorsement and help. This is a great loss to the equestrian community. I will forever treasure the memories of John and remember the support he provided. With sympathy, Karen Sparks

Dear Linda, Julie, Madeleine and Families please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of John. I was deeply saddened to hear of Johns passing, he was such a kind and caring man. He loved to talk about his girls and share his latest pictures of them. When the girls were little he would bring them on a call to my farm and the girls would love playing with my miniature horses. John was an amazing man Veterinarian and friend. He will be Greatly missed.
