Donna and Kim and all loved ones of Pastor Nat. I recently heard of Nat's passing and my heart goes out to all who mourn the loss of this wonderful man. I am sorry to have missed offering condolences in person as I was out of province. Pastor Nat was a wonderful inspiration to me in ministry and a blessing to all he met. He showed the true love of the Father with his patience, kindness, self-control, all goodness and love. He will be missed. Please accept my condolences. It is with a profound sense of loss we have read about Paster Nate’s passing. He truly demonstrated the love of Jesus through out his life. During the early days of my ministry he was a wonderful mentor. I remember numerous times when he was serving in the Smiths Falls Free Methodist Church he would take me with him while visiting individuals who where unable to attend church. He gave me great advice when I was preparing sermons. Heavens gain is our loss. Well done Good and Faithful Servant.

Remembering a great man of God who touched our lives so deeply while he and Grace pastored in Kemptville. I am so grateful for his teaching of telling us not to believe everything you heard from the pulpit but to always check the Bible for Truth. So appreciated Nat coming to my graduation from Bible College. Fondly remembering the nights that Grace and Nat came to our home on Sunday nights to just have a wonderful night of fellowship. So grateful for the lovely printed poems and messages Nat sent me to share with others who were going through challenging circumstances. Our whole family being baptized by Nat was something we are eternally grateful for. We loved the church family in Kemptville and were blessed for our sons to attend church with us. We are eternally grateful for the whole Vaters family for their love and beautiful hearts of friendship shown to us and our family. We miss you all and wish we could be there to celebrate this gift of God given to us by Abba Father. Our heart felt sympathy to your family. How blessed are we who put our faith in God, for no matter how difficult it is to bear the pain of parting. We have this promise that one day we'll be reunited with those who have gone before us to our heavenly home. In time of loss may God's promises bring you peace.
Donna and Kim, sad to hear of your dad’s passing. Pastor Nathaniel was a gentleman and a gentle man. He was a strong and exemplary as a pastor and follower of Jesus. His warm welcoming smile made everyone feel seen and heard. We had the opportunity to visit with him a couple of time a few years ago. He would always ask, “how is my name sake?” It was a privilege to be named after such a wonderful man. Today the world is a lesser place without him. He is resting in the peace and presence of his Lord. No suffering, separation or sadness will trouble him there. In life he never prompted himself. A man of quiet strength and integrity, he is promoted to the home he prepared a lifetime to enter. Let his life be an example for us as we wait to join him with the saints who have gone before. -Blessings and prayers for the family and all who loved him.

With surprise and sadness I extend my condolences to the Vaters family and friends. While I was a pastor in Newfoundland I got to know Nat and Grace. He was a great example of a follower of Jesus. I know he has been promoted to Glory in his 89th year. I too am close by at 83 and thank the LORD for good health. Oh such Sad news. I spent so much time in your house with you Kim as a Teenager. Your Dad was such a loving gentle man. Your parents were the best pastors any group of people could have. Your dad had a way of making me feel like the only person in the room. I'm sure he was like that with everyone

What a glorious homecoming it must have been when Pastor Vaters met his Lord and all those who have gone before him. What a great life he got to share with you all. Your father, yes and mother are forever etched in my memory. It seems like I knew him forever. I admired him when he had to conduct a funeral of a young child. He spoke such comforting words to the parents and family in their deepest sorrow with such grace and kindness. He had a voice for singing too. You have been so blessed with having him so long. Your care and love for him spoke volumes.
Nath will definitely be missed. But, the Blessed Hope, which he preached and held on to, will be a soon reality for our great gathering to be with the Lord forever. He preached with passion.
May you be comforted knowing he is without any more health challenges.

Such a quiet and gentle soul. Go forth dear servant your work here on earth is done. My prayers to Donna, Gerry, Kim, Natalie, Nathan, and all the Vaters family. Take comfort he is happy in the arms of his saviour and his precious Grace. Let your tears flow but remember he is at peace now. I shall always remember his quiet ways and gentle smile. .
