It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of our "rock"; we will be forever grateful to him.
After a long, but courageous battle with melanoma, Vince passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital, on April 24, 2021. Beloved husband and soulmate to Kathleen (nee Murphy) of 50 years. Cherished father of Todd (Lana), Corbin (Denyce), Kim, and Kylie (Warren). His humour, wit and kind spirit live on in his grandchildren Jack Hamilton, Jarrid, Molly and Alex Hamilton, Victor and Sydney Stratton, and Nora Rinas. Brother to Wayne (Yvonne) Hamilton and Jean (Doug) Barker. Predeceased by his parents Vincent Hamilton Sr., Nora (nee Fergus), and his sister Joy. Uproarious uncle to several nieces and nephews. Loving brother-in-law and comrade to the Murphy Family; As he would say: “Those Murphy Girls!”. Vince was a long-time train conductor with CP Rail and an active member of the United Transportation Union; holding positions as National Secretary Treasurer, chairman and president (Lodge 456). He was an avid outdoorsman, craftsman, and recreational photographer; enjoying documenting family, events, and our historic town of Smiths Falls. At Vince's request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at a later date. Donations may be made to The Smiths Falls Food Bank and/or Cornerstone Landing.
