Dear Lois
Eloise and I were saddened to hear of Charles' passing just a few days ago. Ewen called me at our home in Windermere BC and gave us the sad news. Although I don't believe I had the opportunity to meet Charles, Mother spoke glowingly of the happy occasions she had with you and Charles over the years. I know you both had many happy years together and hope that the future will be full of the memories of those wonderful times.
Our condolences

Nancy Van Ulden posted a condolence
Dear Nancy and Ann,
I just read about the death of your father--my condolences. You may remember me as a young girl(about 4 years old) whose mother, Jo Van Ulden, cleaned your parents' house on Jesse St, here in Brockville. My mother passed away about a year and half ago and had fond memories of her relationship with your parents and the 2 of you. Again my condolences, do take care, Nancy Van Ulden

Dear Nancy and family:
It has been many years but so many memories came flooding back when I saw the announcement of your father's passing in the paper. I can still see him and your mother Mary sitting in my parents' living room enjoying a drink and good conversation. I remember the many good times we had as kids playing golf at the Royal Ottawa.... you were such a much better golfer than I! They were fun times.
I remember your father as a calm, happy person who enjoyed life and his friends. He always seemed able to hold his own with my Dad when the discussions turned to politics and became passionate. I find so many of his generation seemed to live life fully after experiencing the tragedies of war.
I send you my sincere condolences on your father's passing and hope that you will eventually come to remember only the happy times and not the loss that I am sure you are feeling now.
With sympathy and understanding
Lamar
