Hello to all of Kims family, and my heartfelt condolences. Kim was a good citizen and clearly cared a lot about the country. I had just spoken to him on the phone a couple of months ago and he told me about his work post WW II in helping to integrate returning soldiers into civilian life. He always seemed to have come up with worthwhile ideas and get the ball rolling. I was very interested in his book project. On this and family history we had some wonderful conversations. I was in Vancouver where sadly my mother Helen Abbott passed away in November, and during that week I was further saddened to read of Kims death in the National Post.
I would be happy to give you my address in case anyone has the same interest in family history... Just last year I was at a meeting where I met a Peter Abbott, who had the same family crest... the unicorn and 3 pears... he was from Yorkshire and someone at the meeting remarked that he looked just like Sir John Abbott! so you can see the fascination. Again, my sympathy in your loss. Elizabeth Abbott, No 10, rue Legault, Ste Anne de Bellevue, Qc H9X 1Z2; ph 604 266 5288.
