Nancy Elizabeth Gemmill
With heavy hearts we are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mother, Nancy Gemmill, on December 11th, 2024, at the age of 65 years. For the last 6 years Nancy fought with cancer and other health issues. She was a warrior. Nancy was surrounded by her children, her sister Sharon Pratt and niece Pamela Pratt.
Nancy was born on March 19, 1959. She grew up in McDonald’s Corners, Ontario where she met the father of her children, Ronald Gordon. She became the dedicated hard-working mother of three children, Jason Gordon (Theresa), Rodney Gordon and Catherine Gordon (Randy). Nancy was well known for the love of her animals. Her recent dogs Roxy (Pug) and Rosie (Morkie) will miss her deeply. Her predeceased dogs Fifi (Pomeranian) and Ginger (Pug) will be with her. Nancy was the loved sister to Sharon (late Brian) Pratt, brother Brian (Gail) Gemmill and Dennis Gemmill.
Not only was she a beloved mother, but also grandmother to Terence-Jason Gordon, Jacob Gordon, Kaydence Gordon, Braydon Gordon, Kaylie Ennis, Alexa Ennis, and Madison Young. A special friend to Judy Badour, Marie Riopelle, Nora Cromwell, and Patsy Ferrier. Greatly missed by her nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her loving parents, Alphonsus and Dorothy Gemmill, her siblings Willliam (Billy) Gemmill and Johnny Gemmill, and her brother-in-law Brian Pratt.
A special thank-you to all her children for their support and to her sister Sharon for checking in and staying with her during her illness. Thank you to her friends for giving the love and support of friendship, she thought of you as sisters. A special thank-you to her brother-in-law Donald Gordon for helping her with all the home maintenance. She was very grateful knowing she could count on him. Thank you to her neighbour Clifford McGinnis for helping her in the winter months. Thank you to her family and Doctor Scott Charenko for addressing her health concerns and getting her the right care. Thank you to all the nurses and doctors at the Ottawa General Hospital during her treatments. Thank you to Lanark Transportation for getting her to her appointments.
