Obituary of James Edward Adams
James Edward Adams
August 1, 1947 - January 15, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Edward Adams, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who peacefully left us on January 15, 2025. James, known to most as Jamie, was a man who lived life just how he liked it, always with a smile, a laugh, and if he had it his way, a cold beer in his hand. Born on August 1, 1947, Jamie spent much of his life in Ottawa, where he and his parents built and ran a successful HVAC business for many years. At the same time, they were busy creating one of his greatest joys, Poonamalie Landing, a private boat club in Smiths Falls. This peaceful haven was not only his retreat but a place where he built lasting friendships, shared many laughs, and created memories with all who visited. He had a knack for making others feel welcome, whether it was over a cold beer, a shared story, or simply his infectious sense of humor. Jamie was a social soul who enjoyed connecting with people from all walks of life. His great personality drew others to him, and his ability to make everyone feel like a friend was one of his most treasured qualities. His quick wit and sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew him. His legacy lives on through his daughters, Shannon (Greg) and Tama (Billy), and his five grandchildren, Shaelagh, Braedi, Charlie, Aydon, and Julia. Jamie was predeceased by his parents, Ed and Frieda Adams, whom he loved and cared for deeply. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the stories we share, the laughs we remember, and the love he gave. A celebration of Jamie’s life will be held during the summer at Poonamalie Landing. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Smiths Falls District Hospital. Rest in peace, Dad. You were loved more than words can express, and your spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those you touched. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Smiths Falls.
