Obituary of Margaret Ann Burns

Passed away peacefully at the Smiths Falls Hospital on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at the age of 90.  Beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Burns.  Loving and devoted mother of Jacqueline (Steve) Gibbs, Robert Burns and Debbie (Jeff) Bristow.  Proud grandmother of Matthew (Jennifer) and Jacob (Ashley), and the late Courtney Gibbs, Paige Foster (Naj), Logan (Darian) and Hailey Burns, Taylor (Katie) Bristow, and Kayla (Bryce) McCallum; and great-grandmother of Allyson, Brooklyn, Brady, Ariella and Amara.  Peggy was also predeceased by her parents John and Mary Moran and her sister Mamie Cunningham and her brother Jim Moran. She will be sadly missed by her many extended family, and friends in the Smiths Falls and surrounding communities.  Peggy was a proud member of the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Women’s League for more than 25 years.  Peggy's family would like to thank all of the staff at the Smiths Falls Hospital and her caregivers at home, over the last number of years. All are welcome to join the family at St. Francis de Sales Church on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. A reception will follow at Hanley Hall.  There will be a private interment taking place at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery.  If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis de Sales Building Fund.
