Wilma was the second child of the late William and Pearl Bresee (Henderson) of Westport, ON. Predeceased by her siblings Edna Croskery (Glen), Bessie Hanna (Donald), Delmar Bresee and Robert Bresee.
Wilma was born and raised on a farm near Westport, ON. At the age of 17 she attended Teachers College in Toronto and upon graduation came to teach at the one room Elm Grove School. She married Ned in 1949 and moved to the family farm on the Rideau Lake where they raised three sons. She was a member of the Bethel UCW and a long-time member of The Fortuna Rebekah Lodge Perth. She loved knitting especially original designs and donated hundreds of her creations to the community. Wilma’s generosity, compassion and resilience will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was happiest when surrounded by family on the farm.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Peter Cunniffe and Dr. Robin Kennie of Perth as well as Dr. Bernard Hurley of the Ottawa Eye Institute. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Ontario Health at Home and the Great War Memorial Hospital third floor nurses and staff for their care and compassion.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In honour of Wilma, memorial contributions to the Perth Site of the Perth & Smith Falls District Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Home, Perth.
