Obituary of Audrey Aileen Maude Ferrier
Ferrier, Audrey Aileen Maude
November 20th,1932 - February 2nd,2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our dearly loved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Audrey Aileen Maude Ferrier, on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025 at Lanark Lodge.
Born on November 20, 1932, Audrey was the youngest daughter of the late Jim and Mae (Dowdall) McLaren. She married the love of her life, Orville Ferrier, on June 30, 1954. She adjusted well to country living and together, they built a life on the Scotch Line, raising a family with love, resilience and deep rooted values. They shared over 63 wonderful years of marriage before Orville's passing in 2018.
Audrey was a devoted mother to Gloria (Frank) Cauley, Jim (Brenda Coleman) and Dianne (Garrick Klahm). She took immense pride in her growing family, treasuring the arrival of each grandchild and great grandchild. Left to honour her memory and share cherished stories are: Michelle (Steven) Kwan and their children Audrey, Violet, Hudson and Eloise; Jordan (Faria) Johnstone; James (Laura) Ferrier and their children Isobel and Coleman; Emily (Jake) Warren and their daughter Willow; Heather (Nick) Oakley and their children Leah, Kate, and Zach; Alexandra and Ashley Klahm and step-grandson, Rob Cauley.
Audrey is survived by her precious sister Marion (late Lorne) Wright. Their daily phone calls, especially during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, were a source of comfort and connection. She was predeceased by her beloved sister Joyce (late John) Findlay, her nephew Gerald Findlay, and her brothes and sisters in-law Ivan (late Lillian) Ferrier, Arnold Ferrier, and Gladys (late Earl) Lally. She is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Family was at the heart of everything Audrey did. She loved celebrating birthdays and holidays, but she never needed a special occassion to gather loved ones around her table for a home cooked meal or host a lively card party.
A dedicated member of her community, Audrey was a past president of the Ladies' Division of the Perth Fair and spent several years judging home crafts at numerous local fairs. She found joy in reading, drawing and in recent years, adult colouring books.
However, her true talent shone in the kitchen - her baking, a beloved staple at the Perth Farmer's Market, was enjoyed by many alongside Orville's produce. She shared her love through food, it was impossible to leave her home empyt-handed, her children and grandchildren would always leave with a lemon loaf or a pie she had baked but insisted she wouldn't be eating. And holiday dinners will never be the same without Grannie's buns, anticipated and loved by all three generations. Her joy, warmth, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered in every shared meal, every well-loved recipe, and every gathering where her presence will be deeply missed.
Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home. 15 Gore St. W., Perth on Thursday, February 6th, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Funeral will take place at the Blair and Son Funeral Chapel on Friday, February 7th, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. followed by a Reception in the Blair & Son Family Centre. Interment Scotch Line Cemetery.
