Obituary of Margaret Louise Burke

Burke, Margaret Louise (Splane)

The family of Louise is saddened to announce her passing on Tuesday, February 4rth, 2025 at her home in Perth. Louise was predeceased by her beloved husband of thirty years, Robert Burke and her parents Harold Splane and Thelma Beveridge.  She leaves to mourn her two children Harold of Perth and Robert and his wife Pam of Barrie.  Louise was the dearly loved Grandmother to Jessica (FiancĂ© Keith McGibbon), Mathew and Jeremy.

 A young Louise Splane moved from Carleton Place to Perth where she met and married Robert Burke. Louise worked for Wampole's, Perth IGA and Independent Grocers from which she retired.  Louise was always actively involved with charity organizations and her church.  Louise spent her early retirement years at St Andrew's Church as a steward and singing in the Salvation Army Choir.  Louise and her "posse" would travel to many church activities, charity functions and of course "to go shopping".

Louise was the loved sister of Irene Richardson and Orrin Splane.  She was predeceased by her brother David and brothers in law Jack Richardson, James Burke, Tom Burke, Russell Burke, George Hawley, Morris Ashby and her sisters in law Yvonne Splane ,  Helen Burke, Vietta Hawley, Shirley Ashby, Pat Burke, and Reta Burke.  She is survived by her sister Irene Richardson, brother Orrin Splane, brother in law Steven Burke and  sisters in law Barb Renaud and Mary Splane She will be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, church members and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Louise's Life  held at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St., West, Perth on Saturday, February 15th 2025  at 2:00 pm followed by a gathering in the Blair & Son Family Centre until 4:00 P.M. .  In remembrance of Louise donations can be made  to the Ottawa Heart Institute or St. Andrew's Church, Perth, Ontario.

Louise was well known, loved and respected in our community. To those that knew her

".... Her like will not be seen again".
