Obituary of Fred Pickles

Pickle, Frederick

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Renshi Frederick Pickles, 4th Dan. Can-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu, on February 11, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer, with his spouse and sister by his side. Fred was born on September 19, 1947, to his parents (predeceased) Florence and Frederick Foxcroft.  Survived by his spouse Linda Marie Grenier, his sister Joanne Hurley and brother John Foxcroft, sister-in-law Carolyn Holmes (Barry), brother-in-law Marc Grenier (Diane), and nieces and nephews Tammy Homer (Kevin), Chris Hurley (Traci), Jesse Cannon, Nicole Simpson (Patrick), Danielle Shier (Jon) and Sean Grenier. Fred was an expert chess player, loved studying geology and prospecting on his land. He will be greatly missed by all his family, friends and the Lanark Highlands community.

Friends are welcome to attend  a Celebration of Life for Fred on Saturday, March 29th, 2025 from 5:00 to 10:00 P.M. at the Royal Canadian Legion, 69 George St, Lanark, ON K0G 1K0. Musicians are asked to bring their instruments and play 3 songs of their choosing.  Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Perth.
