Obituary of Laurie Jean Modderman

Laurie Modderman (nee Darou)

March 12, 1956 – February 18, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Laurie, at home, surrounded by family members. Dear wife of Leonard Modderman and loving mother to Emily Modderman, (Chiara Nicolini).

Laurie was the youngest child of the late Kenneth and Christie Darou (Fraser) of Perth, ON. Sister of: Lynne Brazeau (Darou), and her partner Joe McCaffrey,  James Darou (Ann Muir), and Carole Magill, (Gerry Magill). Sister-in-law to Genevieve Brown (Bill), and Victor Modderman (Renée).

Aunt to nieces and nephews: Heather (Scott), Jonathan (Emmy), Steve (Zoe), Scott, Bradley (Julia), Sophia (Drew), Sebastian (Stephanie), Emile (Jade), Fabien, Esmée, and great niece Ruby (Darou).

Laurie, Leonard, and Emily lived in Kitchener for 34 years before retiring to the Perth area. They very much enjoyed their 10 and a half years living on Otty Lake. Emily and Chiara presently live in Brantford, ON, where they enjoy gardening and their new home.

Friends and family can pay their respects at Blair and Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. West, Perth, ON on Saturday February 22, 2025 from 2:00 -4:00 PM. A tribute will take place at 3:00 PM.

In honor of Laurie, contributions to the David Suzuki Foundation or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada would be appreciated.
