Obituary of Kathleen Ruth Reid
With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Kathleen (“Kathie”) Ruth Reid, who left us peacefully February 18th, 2025. Born on September 27th, 1950, in Markham, ON, Kathie lived a life filled with love, laughter and an animated spirit. She was a creative soul who found joy in painting, caring for her beloved cats and could always be found tending to her beautiful gardens - she found peace and happiness in the simple joys of life. Kathie had a deep passion for the performing arts, whether she was on stage, directing or in the audience, soaking in every moment. She also had fond memories of the many piano students she taught over the years, cherishing the connections she made and the music they shared together.
Kathie leaves behind her loving partner, Ian Doig, and will be deeply missed by her children, Jessica Raminsh (Mike Bingley) and Rob Raminsh (Anne Marie), as well as her stepdaughter, Wenna Doig (Jon Eagen), who cherished her unwavering love and guidance. Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren: Callum and Ella Anderson, and Aiden, Austin, and Isaac Raminsh, who brought her endless pride and happiness. She was the cherished daughter of the late Cynthia “Ruth” Reid and Robert Reid.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate and honour Kathie’s remarkable life during a gathering at Blair and Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W., Perth on Friday, February 28th, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. There will be an informal “sharing of memories” at 6pm.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to pay tribute may consider making a donation to the Lanark Animal Welfare Society, a cause close to Kathie’s heart.
Although she will be missed tremendously, Kathie’s light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved her.
