Obituary of Margaret Aileen Heffernan
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Margaret Heffernan on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the age of 75. Margaret's gentle spirit and warmth will be dearly missed by her daughter, Amy Heffernan, and her long-time companion, Stephen Clark. She is predeceased by her husband, Rodger Heffernan.
Margaret was cherished by her sister, Doris Elliott, and her brother-in-law, Gill Elliott, as well as her extended family, friends, and neighbours, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.
A retired Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), Margaret found joy in her later years working with Riverguild Fine Crafts in Perth. She also dedicated her time to volunteering with the Smiths Falls and Athens Lions Club, where her kindness and generosity touched many lives.
Margaret had a passion for travel, and she and Stephen shared many special adventures together, creating memories as they explored new places. Her love for nature was evident in the beautiful gardens she lovingly tended, and she took great pleasure in exchanging the fruits of their labor with her neighbors Ken Drew and Ruth McEwen. Her thoughtfulness and caring nature will be remembered by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Margaret’s honor at the Smiths Falls Lions Club on March 15th, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be made in Margaret's name to the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation or the World Wildlife Fund Canada. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Home, Perth.
Margaret’s kindness, warmth, and love will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
