Obituary of Penny Aris

Penny passed away peacefully at the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the age of 78 with her daughter by her side. Beloved wife of James "Jim" Aris.  Loving and devoted mother of Jodi (Jason) Drummond and Beverley Hitchins. Proud grandmother of Morgan McNeely, Cassidy and Luke Drummond, Nick (Brittany) and Josh (Brianna) Hameluck and Liam McGinnis; and great-grandmother of Kayden, Maci-Lynn, Oliver and Payzlee Rae. She was the cherished sister of Maureen (late Bob) Clark, Sheree (John) O’Malley. Penny is predeceased by her parents Harold and Florence (nee Sherwood) Henry and her brother Ron (Susan) Henry. Penny will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, especially her niece Melanie Fielding with whom she shared a special bond. She will be sadly missed by her friends and extended family as well as the Aris family, David, Ashley (Brian), John (Glennis), Larry (Ann), Margaret and their families. As per Penny’s wishes, cremation has taken place with a graveside service to be held at Hillcrest Cemetery on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 12 noon, There will be a Celebration of Life following the interment at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 95, Smiths Falls from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Donations in memory of Penny can be made to the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Smiths Falls.
