Obituary of Enid Rabb

It is with deep sadness to announce that Enid passed away peacefully at the Smiths Falls Hospital on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the age of 93.  She is predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend Jack Rabb.  Loving and devoted mother of Paul (Tammy) Rabb of Renfrew and Scott (Audra) Rabb of Montreal.  Enid was a proud grandmother to Tyler (Meaghan), Brandon, Victoria (Kyle), Caitlin (Johanna), Leesalee and Daniel.  She will be sadly missed by her sister Dallas (Brian) Reinke, her sister-in-law Maralyn Kearns, as well as Sharon Musgrave.  Enid is predeceased by her siblings Moira Ottenhof, Adele Thomas, Richard Kearns and Lorraine Tremblay.  Enid was born on May 28, 1931, and through her working career she was a proud Registered Nurse where she graduated from the Hotel Dieu Hospital in 1953.  Upon the arrival of her children, she took time away from nursing, then returned to work and having a long career teaching many students at Algonquin College.  During her teaching and retirement years Enid kept busy volunteering at the Royal Canadian Legion, sitting on various committees for Settler’s Days, Old Home Week, Evergreen Ave or the Catholic Women’s League.  She was a devout Catholic, and she was a loyal and dedicated member of St. Francis de Sales Church where she enjoyed many years of singing in the choir.  She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family, her church family and her neighbours at Collegiate Court.  The family would like to thank her great friend Marg, and Joan and Randy from Collegiate Court, as well as the medical staff at the Smiths Falls Hospital.  Enid’s quality of life was made so much better with those special people that surrounded her with such wonderful care.  Friends may pay their respects at Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Church on Saturday at 11 a.m.  A reception will take place at Hanley Hall following the Mass.  Private interment will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date.
