Obituary of Brooke Gibson
We are heartbroken to announce the death of our sweet, loved and lovable daughter, sister and aunt, Brooke Gibson, on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at the age of 41. She leaves her family impossibly sad and unable to imagine life without Brooke at the centre of all our family gatherings and get-togethers and pizza parties.
Brooke had a full life and loved her Senators and her favourite captain Brady Tkachuk, as well as the Flames, Blue Jays and Titans, and her family most of all. She was born on July 5, 1983, a summer baby who showed up three weeks early to the excitement of her older siblings. As the baby of the family, she got plenty of attention and loved every minute of it.
She never tired of watching Friends and other old sitcoms, and she played a mean game of Crazy 8s and Yahtzee. She loved her family and never hesitated to let us know it, and always cheered on her nieces in everything they did. Our lives are diminished without her, but we were better for having had her for 41 years. We just wish we had more time.
She was the wonderful daughter of June and the late Arnold Gibson, and “best sister ever” to Kristy, Gena (Scott Wark) and Shawn. She adored her three nieces, Shayna Wark (Tayler Graham), Nikki Wark and Kallie Gibson. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Toots and Goold Borrowman and Agnes and Lawrence Gibson, aunts Vivian Munroe (Laurie) and Lois Johnson (Marvin), uncle Ian Borrowman and cousin Wade Munroe. She is survived by her uncle Gene Borrowman (Alice) and cousins Tricia, Russ, Vicky and Sherry and families.
Brooke was kind, silly, smart, and our shining light. She will be missed more than words can ever describe.
There will be a private family gathering to honour Brooke's life.
