

Obituary of Bud Fawcett
Passed away Peacefully at his home, with family by his side on Friday, April 4, 2025, in his 82nd year. Predeceased by his parents Delbert and Lila (nee Burnie) Fawcett and his sister Verla Levere. Beloved husband and best friend to Gloria (nee Selleck) of 60 years. Devoted father to Carole (Paul) Redmond, Kim Leach, and Lori (Ed) Garrett. Proud Gpa to Jessica (Jesse) Greenwell, Lukas (Paige) Redmond, Josh (Kelsey)Leach, Jenna (Kyle) MacGregor, Cody (Lindsay) Garrett, and Conner (Marcus) Crane. Great Gpa to Riley, Madalynn, Maeve, Nora, Cohen, Jack, Wyatt, Julian, Maren and Emerie. Also left to mourn his loss are his siblings; Marilyn (Vern) Bruce, Debra (late Miles) Lewis, Bernice (Paul) Scale, Barry (Diane) Fawcett, Brent (Darlene) Fawcett, Beatrice (Gary) Wigney and Beverly Montgomery. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, Gloria’s family and his many friends. Bud was a proud employee at Hershey Canada for more than 33 years and was a representative at the local Hershey Hockey Tournament for 25 years. His community involvement included President of the Smiths Falls Golden Age Bowling and 55 Plus Bowlers, President of the Harmony Senior’s Centre and Chairman of the Seniors Activity Centre. He was also a recipient of the Charles Gilhuly award in 2024, was inducted into the Recreational Hall of fame in 2017, nominated for Citizen of the Year in 2023 and sat on the Church Council at Trinty United Church in Smiths Falls. While impossible to name all of Bud’s community involvement and accomplishments, we know that he has left a lasting legacy in the Smiths Falls community, and will be greatly remembered and sadly missed by those he worked with in helping to shape Smiths Falls and its wonderful community. Friends may pay their respects at Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A service to celebrate his wonderful life will take place at his church home at Trinity United Church, Smiths Falls on Saturday at 11 a.m. A private interment will take place at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions in Bud’s name may be made to Trinity United Church, Harmony Seniors Club 162 or a charity of your choice.
