Brady, Judith Ann
October 6, 1956 – April 7, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that on Monday, April 7, 2025 at the age of 68, Judy Brady (nee Rathwell) of Perth passed away at the Civic Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 49 years, Bill Brady, devoted mother to Matthew Brady (Nicole Hasler) and Andrew (Michelle) Brady. Cherished grandmother to Duncan, Lexie, Paisley and Madelynne. She was predeceased by her parents, Bob & Dorothy (nee Conboy) Rathwell, her brother Kenny Rathwell and her in-laws, Pat and Mary (nee Williams) Brady. Judy was the dear sister to David (Megan) Rathwell. She will also be missed by her in-laws the late Mary Lou (Terry) Moore, Patricia Wing, Thersea (the late Bob) Bromley, Bonny (Kirk) Godfrey, Barbie (Bill) McKnight. Cherished niece of Gloria (Gerry) Furlong, the late Marion (late Des) Taylor and Dave (Donna) Conboy. Judy will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Judy will be greatly missed by her Chocolate Lab, Cora. Cora has faithfully been by her side for the last 2 years. Judy loved to entertain at the cottage, watching her grandchildren swim, kayak, fish, boat and tube on Otty Lake. They were her world. Her favourite evening activity at the lake was lighting a bonfire, roasting marshmallows and visiting with her friends and family. Bill and Judy moved into the cottage as soon as the ice was out and stayed until almost Christmas every year.
Judy enjoyed social activities with her many friends. They celebrated with dinners, parties, vacations and Chinese auctions.
Judy worked tirelessly in the swimming pool and hot tub industry since 2004, was the co-owner of Cobra Pools & Spas Inc. The family business has been blessed to have the dedication of their long-time employees and supportive customers and suppliers during this difficult time. Previous to her partnership in Cobra Pools & Spas, Judy worked for the Lanark County Board of Education for many years at the same time as owning and operating a dairy farm on the Scotch Line. Judy will be remembered for having a very strong work ethic.
Judy’s strength, grace, courage and resilience, showed throughout her journey with ALS. Judy’s love and devotion from her family were a true testament to her spirit and the bonds they shared.
Friends may pay their respects at Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W. Perth on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. A celebration of life for Judy will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 244 26 Beckwith St. E., Perth, on Thursday, April 17th, 2025 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm with a sharing of memories at 2:00pm. In remembrance of Judy donations to the ALS Society would be appreciated.
