Obituary of Helen Cameron

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Cameron, age 94, of Smiths Falls, on April 9, 2025. Helen was born on October 5, 1930, in Windsor, Ontario. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack Code and the late Bill Cameron, and a cherished mother, stepmother, grandmother, and friend.

Helen was the cherished mom of Michael (Carol) Code and was predeceased by her sons, John (Karen) Code, Cecil (Diane) Code, and Trevor Code. She was a devoted and loving grandmother to her grandchildren: Shaun (Kaitlyn) Code, Tanya Giff, Michaella (Bradley) Isenor, and Hallie (Gabriel) Brown. Helen was also a proud great-grandmother to Kurtis, Marcus, Ryan, Ava, Jack, Leo, and Tate.

Helen was a wonderful, loving stepmother to the late Alan Cameron, Sharon (late John) Lewis, Brian (Jill) Cameron and Glen (Cathy) Cameron. As well, a devoted step grandmother to Steven (Claudine) and Annabelle Cameron, Christine (Steve) Pol, Michael (Jess) Jax Lewis, Brandon (Amanda) Lewis, Eden (Cam) Siemens, Duncan (Haley) Cameron, Taylor and Baillie Cameron. Her family will forever remember her as a woman of great strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication.

Helen was an active member of her community and devoted much of her time to helping others. She served as the president of Club 55, the Forget Me Not Club, and Alanon for several years where she made lasting friendships and contributed to the well-being of those around her. Helen was employed by Rideau Regional Centre, where she had a wonderful career of 30 years at the time of her retirement.

In her personal life, Helen had a great love for knitting, crocheting, crafting and baking. She enjoyed creating beautiful handmade items and sharing her baked goods with family and friends. Her creativity and generous spirit were cherished by all who knew her.

Helen was a loving woman who welcomed newcomers with open arms. She was honest, free-spirited, and kind – traits that made her a beloved figure in the community. Her warm heart, sense of humour, and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family would like to thank Hilltop Manor Long Term Care Home in Merrickville for their wonderful care of Helen over the past several years.
