I had the honour and privilege of sharing the last 8 years with Paulie. He was always kind and gentle. Paulie was so appreciative of the staff at St Pat's, we never saw any anger or discontent from him. He always had big smile and warm good morning for me everyday. I have never met someone who was so happy with what he had, through all his health issues he never had any unkind words. He was always grateful for any help and never wanted to bother us. Whenever we would share a laugh or joke he always got a twinkle in his eye and had that smile that showed how genuinely happy he was. Through Paulie I was blessed to be able to get to know his sister Mary. He idolized her and you could see how proud he was of her and how much he loved her. She is such an angel, always looking out for him, playing cards and bringing him his favorite snacks. They had such a wonderful bond and you could see how much they meant to eachother. I came to see Paulie as more than just "a resident" he become a friend and family. I will always have a spot in my heart for him and I will miss his smile and kind words. Cavan will never be the same with him gone. Rest easy Paulie, you fought hard and always made it through the tough times with your family at your side. You deserve peace and happiness and get back on that red motorcycle, let the wind mess up your hair. The world was a better place with you in it and I will miss you. All my love and condolences to you and your family during this difficult time.
