Obituary of Lindsay Arnold Echlin
Echlin, Lindsay Arnold
Lindsay passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Kingston General Hospital on Friday, April 25th, 2025, at the age of 76. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Betty Darou. Lindsay was the stepfather to seven children and will lovingly be remembered by Elaine (the late Dave) Armstrong, Doug (Norma Graham) Darou, Helen (Bob) Milotte, Don (Carol Mccann) Darou, Steven Darou, Charlie (Mandy McLean) Darou, and the late Rhonda Darou. Proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He will be fondly remembered by his siblings, Rita Echlin, Marilyn Bennett, Stephen (Lori) Echlin, Glenda (John Bingley) Echlin, Brant (Carey-Anne) Echlin, and the late Glen (Marge) Echlin, the late Brian (Linda) Echlin. Lindsay also had a twin brother, Lionel, who passed away at 15 months. Lindsay was predeceased by his parents, Reginald and Joyce Echlin.
Lindsay was the former proprietor of the Hopetown General Store, along with his wife, Betty. He worked many years and just retired a couple years ago from Cavanagh Construction. Lindsay was an avid Senators fan and sure didn’t mind advising Leaf fans in the family of a Sens win.
Heartfelt thanks to the supportive and caring staff at the Kingston General Hospital. We will miss Lindsay’s great sense of humour and love for his family and friends. A private family interment will take place at Watson’s Corners Cemetery on May 24th , 2025 at 11:00 a.m. , followed by a Celebration of Life at Lanark Civitan Hall from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.
