Obituary of John Charles Tobin

On Monday, May 5th, in his 86th year, with his family by his side, John peacefully left this world in the same way that he lived his life; with dignity, grace, and courage.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Eleanor (2003) of 41 years; parents Charles and Jean, sister Mary Lou (John Letersky) and brothers, Dick and Jim (Margie). He will be forever missed by best friend, Donna O’Connor, his adoring children, Joel (Tracy), Mary (Mark), and Jane.  Cherished grandfather of Katie (Gavin), Kurt, Mickey-John, and Sean; great grandfather of new baby Ella.  Sadly missed by Shirley Tobin (sister-in-law) and numerous nieces and nephews.  Fondly remembered by his extended family and his many wonderful friends. 

After graduating, John began his dental practice in 1963, devoting 45 years to caring for his patients before retiring.

He was profoundly dedicated to his family, friends, and community, always offering his help quietly and generously wherever it was needed.

His warmth, kindness, and steadfast commitment to others will be deeply missed, but lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Private family services will be held at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery.  All are welcome to join in for a Celebration of John's Life at the Smiths Falls Golf and Country Club on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
