Peacefully, with her family by her side, Carolyn passed away on Wednesday, June 4th.

Beloved wife of the late Buddy Barr, Carolyn will be deeply missed by her siblings Barbara (the late Arnold) Mahon, Anne (Gord) Cook, and David (Louise) Mitchell. She is also remembered by her sister-in-law Betty (the late Jimmy) Dalgleish. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and dear friends, all of whom were touched by her warmth, kindness, and generosity of spirit.

Carolyn had a deep love for the communities she called home—spending many cherished years in Richmond and Ottawa before returning to Smiths Falls later in life. Wherever she lived, she gave her time generously, becoming an active and valued member of numerous community organizations. Among her most meaningful contributions were her involvement with the Smiths Falls Food Bank, the Smiths Falls Hospital, the Station Theatre, and being an active parishioner and singing in the choir at Trinity United Church.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Maples Unit at Lanark Lodge, and to the compassionate team on the second floor of Perth District Hospital. Your care and kindness meant so much to Carolyn and those who loved her.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Carolyn’s memory may be made to the Smiths Falls Community Food Bank. A celebration of Carolyn’s life will take place on Friday, July 25, 2025 with a graveside service at Hillcrest Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at the Blair & Son Funeral Home Reception Centre 112 Beckwith St. N., Smiths Falls.
