It is with great sadness the family of Thomas Bryant Moodie announce his death at the University Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta on March 11th, 2025 in his 81st year.
He was the beloved husband of Marilyn (Holmes) and loving father of Eloise, Cale (Suzette) and Patrick and grandfather of Oliver, Adrien and Rowen. Bryant was predeceased by his parents Mildred (nee Perrin) Tysick and Harold Moodie. He was a loving brother to Rodger (deceased), Frannie (Deceased) wife Patsy, Lorna Ladouceur (deceased) and Catherine Curran and husband Butch.
Bryant said he had the best job in the world. After earning his PHD from University of Toronto he moved to Alberta as a Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Alberta. He had many opportunities to travel the world especially Indias Institutions of Technology to speak and lecture.
Having studied Rudyard Kipling’s novel “Kim” in high school, then seeing India for himself he fell in love. He and Marilyn visited there many times and spent winters there where they were welcomed as part of the Goan Village.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held in early fall. Bryant will be buried close to his grandparents, aunts and uncles at the Upper Scotch Line Cemetery, Perth. Where he would often visit on his trips home.
