Obituary of Graham John Bayliss
Bayliss, Graham John
October 18, 1946 – June 11, 2025
Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on June 11, 2025, in Perth, Ontario, at the age of 78.
Beloved husband of 46 years to Debbie (née Nichols). Cherished father of John (Liza) and Laura (Derek). Devoted and adored grandfather to Ava, Ella, Amelia, Olivia, and Brogan, who brought immense joy to his life.
Born in Bagshot, England, to the late Harry and Mona Bayliss (née Graham). He is survived in England by his siblings Tony (Rhona), Martin (Margaret – deceased), and Kate. In Canada, he leaves behind his mother-in-law Queenie (John – deceased), sisters-in-law Lynn and Barb (Nick), and brother-in-law Mark (Barb – deceased). He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Graham had a varied career in England, working for Easams, Benson Lehner, and British Airways as a senior computer operator. He was also a proud partner with his brother Tony in Bayliss Transport.
In 1989, Graham and his family immigrated to Canada, where he became general manager of two divisions of a large transportation and storage company in Ottawa. He later transitioned into a successful second career in the automotive industry, where his honesty and integrity earned him the respect and loyalty of many customers.
Graham will be remembered for his dry wit, his love of fishing—whether fly fishing on England’s River Test or at the family cottage on Pike Lake—and his enjoyment of family vacations in the United Kingdom, France, Spain, and the Dominican Republic. His steady presence, humour, warmth, and loyalty will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at Perth Community Care Centre (PCCC) who truly cared for Graham. Special appreciation to RN Yveta, whose support was invaluable – you are a true gem. Sincere thanks as well to Dr. Lai and Dr. Oh for their care and compassion.
A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Graham’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations to the PSP Society of Canada or Parkinson Canada would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Home, Perth.
