Obituary of Lillian Higham
Anita Lillian ”Lil” Higham (nee Strang)
(April 12, 1930 – June 13, 2025)
Our Beautiful Lady in Red
We are saddened to announce the death of our beloved mother who passed into the warm embrace of our Lord at Fairview Manor, Almonte after a brief illness, surrounded and supported in love by her husband and children.
Born in Scarborough, Ontario, the daughter of Charles Scott Strang and Ethel Lillian Shaw, she was the last surviving member of a family of nine. She was married for seventy-five years to Harold Charles Higham. As both employees of the CNR, they lived in Willowdale, Ontario, Roxboro, Quebec and in retirement, Westport, Ontario.
It was a life well-lived and she loved everybody. Not surprisingly, everybody loved her.
She was simply adored by her two children and their spouses, Scott (Nancy) Higham and Donna Laurie (Alan) Drummond and her six grandchildren, Katie, Stephen, Bradley, and the triplets Graham, Jennnifer and Hilary, to all of whom she was known as “Bamma”.
She leaves a legacy of five great grandchildren and an enduring memory of absolute devotion to family, wisdom, fun and laughter, always laughter.
Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St., W., Perth on Wednesday June 18th, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday June 19th, 2025 at 1:30 P.M. followed by a sharing of memories in the Blair & Son Family Centre.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Breast Cancer Canada or Fairview Manor, Almonte would be gratefully received.
In honour of Lil, we ask that you consider wearing something red her favourite colour, to the service
