Obituary of Fernande Isola Vachon
It is with deep sorrow and so much love that we share the passing of Fernande Isola Vachon; a woman whose voice, laughter, and spirit filled every corner of every room. She left this world on June 11th 2025, surrounded by those who loved her most, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, wit, and unwavering generosity.
She was survived by her son Paul Majczyna, daughter Sandra Tobin, son in law Vince Tobin, granddaughter Raina Tobin. She leaves behind her siblings; Leandre Vachon (Jacqueline Vachon), Maryelle Armstrong-Vachon (Hilliard Armstrong), Raymonde Vachon-Snape, Raymond Vachon (the late Patsy Vachon), Oly Vachon (Huberte Poirier), and Joanne Locke (Ronald Weir). She will be sadly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who never hesitated to put others first. Her children are so grateful to God for blessing them with these last three years together, since her retirement and move to Westport. Their time together was a true gift, and they will cherish it always.
Fernande was funny, loud, and wonderfully stubborn - the kind of woman who told it like it was and loved with her whole heart. She found joy in the simple things: a good puzzle, book, a new recipe to try, and sharing a home-cooked meal with the people she loved. She cherished having sleepovers with Raina and baking together. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, and second (or third) helpings. Her love language was food, and no one ever left her table hungry - or without a story.
Though the world feels quieter without her voice, her spirit lives on in the stories we share, the lessons she taught us, and the love she poured into anyone lucky enough to know her.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the University Hospital Kingston Foundation - Providence Care in honour of Fernande.
