August 19, 1933 to June 18, 2025
Elmer passed away peacefully at Lanark Lodge, Perth, Ontario on Wednesday, June 18th, 2025 in his 92nd year.
He was predeceased by his parents Garnett and Hazel (Bass), his brothers Alvin, Claire and Lyle. Also predeceased by his first wife Beryl (Watt), his second wife Diane (Rothery) and their son Steven McCartney.
He was the loved husband of Heather (Mather). Left to mourn are his children Cheryl Leonard (late Andy), Susan Norwood (Dave Kerr), Nancy and Terry (Debbie), his grandchildren Terry, Brandon, Adam, Lucas, Sierra, Karson and Bryce as well as his 8 great grandchildren. Elmer was very proud of them all.
Elmer was a long time employee of Dodds and Erwin Feed Company. The work was hard but there was always time for jokes to be played and stories to be told. Most customers had a good laugh when they stopped at the mill.
A very special thank you to his caregivers from the Oakridge neighbourhood at Lanark Lodge. Elmer and his family appreciated the loving care given to him.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Scotch Line Cemetery. For those wishing to make a memorial donation in memory of Elmer, the Lanark Lodge Memorial Fund would be appreciated.
