My mom was the most incredible woman. She was committed, kind, strong, and full of love. She lived her life with grace and generosity, always putting others before herself.
Whether you knew her as a friend, a sister, a mother, a nana, or a grandma you knew her heart was always open.
She was an amazing mother-in-law – from the moment she met my husband Chris she treated him not just as a son-in-law, but as one of her own. She was also an incredible nana to our three daughters—Katie, Rachel, and Sarah. I will forever by grateful for the sacrifices my mom made to care for our children so I could return to work. Her love for them was boundless, and the special bond they shared will live on in their hearts forever. Because of my mom our girls have known what real love feels like. My mom never missed a special occasion involving our girls. She went to school Christmas concerts, talent shows, graduations, and school plays in fact during one of her recent hospital stays she made sure she would be released on time so she could watch Sarah perform.
Mom had a zest for life that was truly inspiring. She found joy in painting. In 2020 during the initial lockdown my mom and I decided to join multiple online paint parties, and afterwards share our paintings hers always turned out absolutely amazing – mine not so much.
She enjoyed playing pickleball and making friends, practicing tai chi, golfing, and tending to her beautiful gardens. But above all, she loved her family and friends. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the kind of love that made everyone feel welcome.
Over the years, my relationship with my mom blossomed into a beautiful friendship. We shared so many wonderful moments together—especially on the golf course. Playing in a ladies golf league with her and my sisters at Mapleview where none of us really knew the rules of the game, who knew there was a maximum number of strokes per hole – it paid off when my mom and my sisters and I won the award for most honest golfers at the year end tournament, My mom and I later joined a couple of her best friends Joanne and Vera in Ladies League, and although Joanne and Vera may have been more seasoned golfers that didn’t stop my mom from occasionally teeing up on the fairway and insisting we use our flappers on the greens oh and I almost forgot that she would absolutely let you know if you forgot to mark your ball on the green. We laughed, we cheered each other on, and we made memories that I’ll cherish forever.
My mom taught me so much—about strength, about kindness, and about living life with purpose and joy. My mom was one of the kindest people I know, even in her final days with us she was always thinking about others and how if she saw something she knew one of her friends would like she just had to get it for them as she knew it would bring them so much joy. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, and in the love, she gave so freely.
I love you, Mom. I miss you more than you know. And although I can no longer call you on the phone or ask you in person for advice, I know you are with me—in every moth and butterfly you have sent me. I will continue talking to you every day and sing to you and when my day comes, I am going to give you the biggest hug.

We would like to send our condolences to all Elaine’s family and close friends, I worked with her for about 20 years and she was a great person all around, she was there when you needed her, she helped out when needed, she could give you a different perspective when you were you needed one and loved her time with others doing different activities. Most of all she was proud of all of her family. Needless to say she left a big hole to fill in everyone’s hearts. I was fortunate to get a butterfly which she had painted and will display it with honor of a talent artist. Keep all of your memories close

In loving memory of Aunt Elaine
I wanted to take a moment to share how much her incredible talent and generous spirit have meant to me. In 2022, I was gifted two beautiful paintings of my beloved pets—lovingly painted by Aunt Elaine and commissioned by my wonderful mother-in-law, Shirley. She also gifted me a breathtaking painting of a hummingbird, another one of Aunt Elaine’s masterpieces.
Each of these paintings is a treasure. They bring warmth, comfort, and joy into our home, and they serve as a daily reminder of Aunt Elaine’s remarkable gift and the love she poured into her work.
Thank you, Aunt Elaine, for sharing your heart through your art. Your legacy lives on in every brushstroke. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

I am so sorry for each of you. I know what a special family bond you enjoyed. When Elaine arrived to the Yuletide Fair at St Paul's with her beautiful paintings there was a scurry to see them. I am so sorry that I cannot attend the Celebration of Life for Elaine. I am attending a Family Reunion in Quebec that I organized. May all of your cherished memories help to console you as you grieve and celebrate Elaine. Blessings
