Obituary of Margaret Mary Elizabeth Brady R.N.
It is with deep sadness and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Margie on August 12th, 2025 at the age of 77. She devoted her life to caring for others, spending much of her nursing career at The Hospital for Sick Children - Toronto. The bonds she formed there were lasting. Many of the children she once cared for, now grown, and their families remained in touch with her throughout the years, a testament to the deep impact she made in their lives. After her retirement she moved to Perth where she spent her time being a Hospice nurse for many years. Left behind to mourn her loss are her siblings Joseph Brady (Rosemary Kirk-Brady), and Jane (William O’Grady), and her brother-in-law Greg Amyot. Margie was predeceased by her parents Thomas Edgar Brady and Vera DeWitt, and by her sister Anne Marie Amyot. She will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends.
Margie had a passion for golf and was a long-time member of the Links O’ Tay, one of her most proud accomplishments was receiving a trophy for her hole-in-one. Give her a good pair of shoes and a stretch of road, and she was in her element—walking wasn’t just exercise for her—it was how she connected with life. Whether with a steady stride or a smooth swing, she found joy in movement. She loved the quiet rhythm of a long walk, letting the world open around her one step at a time. And she loved the game of golf—not just for the challenge, but for the fresh air, the camaraderie, and the way it let her walk mile after mile beneath an open sky. The fairway was her favourite path, each round an unhurried journey filled with laughter, patience, and the simple pleasure of being outdoors.
Friends are invited to visit with the family at Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W., Perth on Monday, August 18th, 2025 from 9:00 to 11:00. Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 2025 Christie Lake Road, Perth at 11:30am. Interment later at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery – Toronto, ON. In honour of her, memorial contributions may be made to The Hospital for Sick Children, honoring Margie’s lifelong dedication to the care of children.
