
Obituary of Margaret Ella Coughlin
Passed away peacefully at the Smiths Falls Hospital on Thursday, August 14, 2025, in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late Earl Wilkes and her second husband the late Stephen Coughlin. Loving and devoted mother Glenn (Veronica) Wilkes, Lynne (the late Larry) Pilon and Judy (Garry) Murphy. Cherished grandmother of Jamie (Darlene) Pilon, Chris (Michelle) Murphy, Michelle (John) Pakenham; and great- grandmother Curtis (Caleigh), Nicholas (Emily), and Justin Pilon and Alyssa, Emma and Gavin Pakenham. Margaret will be sadly missed by her step-children Marie Coughlin, Charlie (Carol) Coughlin, Rose Thompson, Gerry (Joanne) Coughlin, Rita McElroy and the late Stephen and Jimmy Coughlin. She is survived by her brother Reginald (Shirley) Linton, her sister-in-law Juanita Linton. She is also predeceased by her brothers Dan, Sam, Wib and Gladstone Linton and sisters Jane Learmonth, Muriel Sturgess and Doris Ball, as well as her brother-in-law Jim (Lois) Wilkes. Margaret will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, her many step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her large extended family and friends. Friends may pay their respects at Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 5 t0 7 p.m. A service to celebrate her wonderful life will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Red Cross or Canadian Cancer Society.
