Obituary of Raymond Arthur Bowes

Peacefully at the Perth Hospital on August 17, 2025, Ray passed away with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Lillian (nee Burns) for over 50 years, and the devoted father of Lexi Bowes and Clint Bowes. Ray was the cherished grandfather of Lily (Zack McPhee) and Ava Reid, and the great-grandfather of Wilder. He will be sadly missed by his siblings Earl (Lorraine), Dale (Cathy), Lillian’s siblings Lois (Glen Wark) and Mona (late Sterling) Burns. Ray was predeceased by his parents Charles and Vera (nee Brown), his sister Evelyn Bowes and his brother and sister-in-law Russell and Reta Burke. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family the P & M Gang, and many friends.

Ray grew up with a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. From a young age, he found solace and adventure in nature—whether tracking deer through the bush with the gang, casting a line into a quiet stream at sunrise, or sitting by a crackling fire after a long day in the wild. Hunting wasn't just a pastime for Ray; it was a way of life. He believed in respecting the land, honoring tradition, and always telling a good story when the day was done. If he wasn’t enjoying the outdoors, he was cheering on his favourite sports teams.

Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Blair and Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W. Perth, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Ray’s funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 11:00am. Interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Perth. In honour of him, memorial contributions to Hopetown Cemetery or the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
