My condolences to Steven, Deanna, Debbie, Darlene and families. Your mother was a talented dynamic and caring soul. I recall my mother’s grateful and perhaps even joyful moment during a sad time when Lena attended my father’s funeral visitation. I believe your mom had been sick and my mother had not anticipated seeing Lena. They met each other with a long hug and my mother saying “ You came! But, how are you?” I believe they had a deep friendship forged over many years. She will be missed.

I fondly remember Lena as a energetic and kind person. It was nice to read the family memories. She was lucky to have such a wonderful supportive family growing up. Lola often told me stories about the family and the wonderful gatherings the family would have. I remember going to the cottage for one of those great family picnics with Lola and Wilfred. She will be greatly missed by your family. Our deepest sympathy. Jean

Deepest Sympathy to the Bobier and James families. Lena's grandmother was Jane Cherry Argue, daughter of Andrew Argue and Ann Cherry of Stittsville, and therefore related to me through George Argue and Mary Ann Wilson. We were also neighbours on Faulkner Trail, Stittsville, where her parents farmed. I will miss our discussions about family history. She was a lovely lady.

Lena's Family, Very recent fun memory of Lena was at the Games Night at St. John's church. She was a lovely lady and I enjoyed our conversations. I met Lena and James because they were good friends to my late mother (Margaret Attwell) at St. John's church. Lena and Mom shared many years of a caring friendship. My family and I have had the privilege of sharing a friendship with Lena's daughter Deanna for many years. I did not meet her other children but I know that she can be very proud of her daughter for ensuring her quality of life these last few years were as full as possible , that her care both before the recent decline in health and after was to give the best, and if a mother can measure her life long work by the effort and love a daughter can give, Lena is looking down smiling.
