Dear Mr. DeFrancesco,
I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of your beloved wife, Seta. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this time of great sorrow. Though words can never fully ease the pain of such a profound loss, I hope you may find some comfort in knowing how much both you and Seta have meant to those fortunate enough to have known you.
As one of your former students from Cardinal Newman High School, class of 1979, I carry with me many cherished memories of those years. Your dedication, kindness, and guidance left a lasting impression, shaping not only my education but also my character. What stands out most vividly is the warmth and presence of Seta, whose gentle spirit and gracious nature always complemented the respect and admiration we felt for you. Together, you were a shining example of love, partnership, and strength—an inspiration to your students in ways we perhaps did not fully understand until later in life.
Seta’s memory remains vivid in my mind, and her passing brings with it a profound sense of sadness. Yet alongside this sorrow, there is also deep gratitude—for having witnessed the bond you shared, and for having been touched by the light she brought into your life and, by extension, into the lives of all who knew her.
Please know that your students, even after all these years, carry those memories with them. The lessons learned in your classroom and the kindnesses extended by both you and Seta have never been forgotten. They remain a part of us, a quiet testament to the lasting impact of two remarkable people.
May you find strength in the love of family and friends, and peace in the knowledge that Seta’s spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched.
With deepest sympathy,
Paul Martinovic
