Obituary of Frederick Scott

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frederick Edward Scott on September 23, 2025 at the age of 86. Fred was a cherished father to Pamela Scott and Deanna Scott-Robinson (Chris). He was a devoted grandfather to Wade and Sydney Robinson. Fred is survived by his cherished partner, Ruth Phillips.

Fred was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lois Scott (nee McConnell), his mother, Beatrice Lillian Scott (nee McLeod), and his father, Russell Walter Scott. He was predeceased by his brother Herbie Scott and his sister, Claire Scott. Fred was the caring brother-in-law to Willis and Hilda Cleary, Bob and Lorna Hobbs, Harold and Carmel McConnell, and the late Murray, Arnold, Gordon, and Shirley McConnell. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Frederick proudly served in the Canadian Air Force as a Master Corporal from 1957-1960 and from 1962-1985. Following his military service, he dedicated his time to the Carleton University Library from 1986 until his retirement in 1999. In his leisure time, Fred was an avid golfer and swimmer, finding joy and relaxation in these pursuits.

Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Blair and Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W. Perth, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 11:00AM-12:00PM. The funeral service will be held in the Blair and Son Chapel at 12PM, with interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. A reception will be held at 3246 Drummond Concession 2 following the committal. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
