Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth Ada

It is with sadness that the family announces the death of their mother Beth on Oct. 1, 2025

Born in Perth to W.A. Davidson and Edith King. She led an idyllic childhood moving between their home in Perth and one on the Rideau at Rideau Ferry.

Beth worked at the Ottawa Civic Hospital as an administrative Supervisor then joined the faculty of the School of Nursing moving with the program to Algonquin College. She was Acting Director of Nursing, Director of Allied Health Programs, Educational and Curriculum Development Resource for college teachers, Principal of the Perth campus, Dean of Health Sciences and Director of Human Resources. Beth was asked to participate in an International Program travelling to South Africa to work with the faculty on updating and initiating new curriculum developments. She also travelled to the Caribbean (Dominica, St. Christopher and Nevis) to evaluate the effectiveness of programs. She completed her BScN at Queen’s University, then her Bachelor of Education from Ottawa University. Beth also completed her Masters of Education at Queen’s University.

In retirement, Beth was Chair of the Board of Renfrew County and Chair of the Friends of Hospice Ottawa, being responsible for planning, fundraising for the now Rudy Shenkman Hospice.

Beth was predeceased by her parents, her sister Marilyn, her husband George and her dear grandson Ryan, gone too soon.

She is survived by her son Stephen (Diep), her daughter Susan (John), her grandson Davidson, her sister Phyllis Baker and niece Jillian Baker.

At Beth’s request there will be no visitation or funeral.
