Wilfred Nelson Lawrenson, 93, of Port Elmsley, Ontario, passed away peacefully into the presence of His Lord on October 9th, 2025. Wilfred "Wilf" was born in January 26th 1932, the third of seven siblings, to Edward and Ruth Lawrenson.  He was married to his wife Lorraine in 1951 when they were both in their late teens.  They were married for 73+ years!  They were blessed with three children, Mark, Brian and Andrea. 

Following Bible College, they trained for missionary work and the family served in Jamaica, preaching, teaching and planting churches.  In 1970, they moved to south Texas for ministry in Mexico.  Returning to Toronto in 1973, he pastored the Toronto Gospel Lighthouse for twenty-five years.  During that time and after retirement, Wilf and Lorraine travelled doing missionary work to over thirty countries.  Wilf served on several mission boards, along with the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies in Ontario.  Wilf and Lorraine retired in 1998 to their lakefront home near Bobcaygeon and moved in 2006 to Peterborough.  In 2018 they relocated, along with their daughter Andrea and son-in-law Ken, to their present home in Port Elmsley, ON. 

Wilfred was predeceased by his parents Edward and Ruth Lawrenson, siblings Dorothy (Ivan), John (Dorothy), Netta (Gerald), Margaret (surviving husband Don), David (surviving wife Krista) and Eddie.

Wilfred is survived by his wife Lorraine, their children Mark (predeceased by his wife Mary), Brian (Ellen), Andrea (Ken), sister Rhoda (predeceased by her husband Rob); grandchildren Julie, Breanne (Atik), Sean (Brittany), Eric and James; great grandchildren Ava, Ally, Logan and Zaine.  He will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to join the family for the Funeral and Celebration of Life for Wilfred, which will be held at Blair and Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W., Perth, ON on Saturday, October 25th, 2025 at 1:30 p.m.  Visitation will be from noon until 1:30 p.m.  A reception will follow the service.  Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Smiths Falls, on Monday, October 27th, 2025 at 11:00am.
