Obituary of Robert Arthur Knapp

It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bobby Knapp at the Kingston General Hospital with his family by his side, on Monday October 13th, 2025 at the age of 78.
Bobby was the loving husband of Julia (nee Norwood) for 57 years and cherished father of Lorraine (Bradley Greenslade), Lee-Ann McDonnell (Tony Nizman), Louise (Clint Bron).
He was the adored "Poppa/Grampa Knapp" to Brodie and Bobbie McDonnell, Larissa and Braden Greenslade and Carter and Kyle Bron. He will be fondly remembered by his siblings Elaine (Al) Fuller, Eleanor (Arnie) Bowes and Charlie"Wayne" (Sharlene) Knapp, along with his brother and sister-in-laws on the Norwood side. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, Tackaberry Construction co-workers, and friends.
Bobby was born to Vera & Keith Knapp on November 1, 1946 in Port Hope and was the eldest of 4 siblings.
He will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious smile, grin and laugh, his work ethic, warm sense of humour and his devotion to his family.
He enjoyed tinkering with tractors, keeping up with the grandchildrens sports schedules and checking in with his 3 daughters every morning and letting them know whose birthday it was and how old they were turning. The birthdays included family, friends, neighbours and celebrities. He filled us in on the scores of sports games and his plans for the day.
He worked since he was a young teen including the Golden Eagle, Allen's Bakery, Perkins, Code's Felt, Aeroquip and eventually Tackaberry in Perth which he was a proud employee and where he retired from and still enjoyed dropping in for visits.
He collected coins for each of his grandchildren according to their birth years as soon as they were born and was so thrilled to give them to each of them once he had a baggie full. He was known for giving each of his grandchildren money here and there and saying "don't tell Granny" with a huge belly laugh and a wink.
He enjoyed each of his son- in-laws and thought of them as his own. He enjoyed his visits with them and conversations regarding the grandkids, sports and tractors and catching up with them.
He also found such joy in going to Brockville to watch the ships go by Brock Island and enjoy a picnic lunch with his wife.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W., Perth on Saturday, October 18th, 2025 from 8:00am to 10:30am. A private Interment will take place at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Brockville. In honour of Bobby, memorial contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
