Obituary of David Norman Laidley
Surrounded by the love of family, we announce the passing of David Norman Laidley at his residence in Rothesay, NB on Sunday, September 7, 2025. Born April 30, 1955, in Toronto, ON, he was a son of the late Charles and Barbara (Clark) Laidley.
Heritage Silversmiths brought Dave and his family to Perth, Ontario where he embraced the community and raised his family. David was an avid golfer and would often be found at Links OTay enjoying the company of friends or practicing for another club championship win. Dave was a passionate sports fan and supported his home town teams of Toronto in whatever sport they were playing (GO JAYS GO). His love for sports and his family overlapped when Dave became an Ump for baseball and a timer for the Stingrays.
His appreciation for music was passed along to his children as well, with many evenings spent looking through his record collection and taking turns playing our favourites. His love for the Cottage was always present and he tried to spend as much time there as possible surrounded by old friends and family.
Dave spent the last three years living in New Brunswick with his daughter Sarah, her partner Jillian and their child Cassidy. His son Spencer visited often where they continued supporting their sports teams together. Davids late daughter Megan was always present in his heart and her daughter, Jocelyn, a source of pride and joy.
David is also survived by his brother, Bruce Laidley (Tara) and their children, Colin and Aaryn; his sister-in-law, Michelle Bryden (the late Jim) and their children, Brenden and Sean, and his Uncle John (Debbie), former wife Gail, and cousins Lynn, Mary (Paul), Peter (Debbie), Jack and Thomas.
Besides his parents, David was predeceased by his daughter, Megan, and brother, Jim.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenans Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). There will be a Celebration of Life on October 26th in Perth, Ontario.
