
Obituary of Rev Nat Vaters
Vaters, Rev. Nathaniel A.
Nathaniel “Nat” Vaters was born April 4th, 1936 in Victoria Newfoundland and passed away in the Almonte General Hospital on Saturday October 18th, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family. He was the cherished husband of the late Rev. Grace Vaters; son of the late John and Melina Vaters; brother of the late Gerald (Lorraine) Vaters, Edith (who passed away in July of this year) (Walter) Richards, Mary (Don) Crocker and son-in-law of the late Dougall (Mary) Burton. He will be left to mourn by daughters Donna (Gerry) Pilot and Kim Vaters; his precious grandchildren Natalie (Kyle) and Nathan, great granddaughter “his little darling” Aurelia and his loyal companion Milo. Nat will be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. He served and pastored for 24 years within the Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland and before retiring, 7 years with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.
Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W., Perth on Friday October 31st, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held in Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church, 160 Wayside Drive, Perth on Saturday November 1st, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. followed by a reception in the Church Hall. Following the reception, Nat will be laid to rest beside Grace in Elmwood Cemetery, Perth. Those wishing to honour Nat’s life with a memorial donation are asked to consider the Mississippi River Health Alliance – Community Paramedicine Program, Lanark County, the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation – Urology Department or the Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church.
