Obituary of Betty McGregor

Betty passed away peacefully at Lanark Lodge on Tuesday, October 21,2025 at age 99 years. She was the daughter of the late Delbert and Mabel (Miller) Chaplin, the beloved wife of the late Howard McGregor and loving mother of Jim (Pam) McGregor and Mary (George) Oliver. Betty was the proud grandmother of Beth (Chris Long) McGregor, Kate (Kyle) Norman, Mark (Alyssa Robinson) McGregor, Neil (Meagan) McGregor, Jennie (Bryan) Brydges, Chrissie (Eric) Graham, John (Kerri Seabrook) Oliver and Derek Oliver; Great-Grandmother to Austen, Freyja, Isabella, Hudson, Norah, Jameson, Troy, Kurtis, Chantal, Carson, Evelyn and Oliver. Betty was predeceased by her sisters Helen O’Gorman-Code (late Ted O’Gorman and late Bob Code), Wynne (late Al) Chaffee and brothers John (late Orpha), Cameron (late Betty), Donald (late Doris) and Gordon (late Lorna) Chaplin. She will be missed by in-laws Jean (late Sid) Mooney and Don (Margaret) McGregor and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Betty was a long-time member of Balderson United Church, Friendship Club and Balderson Women’s Institute. In lieu of flowers donations to the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation, Perth Site or CHEO would be appreciated by the family.

A visitation will be held at Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St West, Perth on Monday, October 27th, 2025 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. followed by a service in the Chapel at 1:00 P.M.  A reception will be held in the Reception Centre following the service.  Interment Elmwood Cemetery.
