Mrs. Wormald will be fondly remembered as one of the best teachers out there. Not only for her incredible patience and kindness, but her ability to enrich the lives of all those students lucky enough to have her as their teacher. The positive impact that she has had on all her students throughout her many years of teaching will be cherished. To bring such joy, love, and light to the classroom is crucial in those younger, formative years, given how rambunctious we could potentially get. Always positive, always smiling, and always there when you needed her. She made the classroom feel more like home than anything. The world would be a much better place if all children were lucky enough to have her guidance as a base for the years to come. It simply speaks to what a wonderful mentor she truly was, given that junior kindergarten was over 35 years ago, and we still feel her presence after all these years. Condolences to her family and friends, she will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Wormald was my kindergarten teacher at Montague School back in 1985… and I still remember her classroom like it was yesterday. I can still see that big colourful parachute with the hole in the middle… all of us kids running underneath it laughing. I remember us wrapping up in blankets and rolling around on the floor… and the little wooden playhouse where we’d go inside and pretend we were cooking in a kitchen. Those are some of my happiest early memories.
She was so patient and kind. I’ll never forget her trying to teach me how to write the number eight the proper way… while I was convinced it should just be two circles like a snowman… she didn’t quite agree, but she always smiled anyway.
After my car accident in 2005… nearly 30 years after I was in her class… she still remembered me and sent a Christmas card to the hospital. That small act of kindness meant the world.
She was a wonderful teacher… a wonderful woman… and she had the biggest heart. She will be deeply missed.

Dear Craig, Tom, Rob and family please accept our sincere condolences. Kathy taught my sons while teaching at Montague Public School 35 years ago then Kathy and Craig attended a dinner to welcome us to Yacht Club Road 15 years ago. We have enjoyed many neighborhood get togethers over the years. Kathy made the most fabulous brownies which she delivered many times and supplied us with vegetables from their garden. Kathy would share stories about her boys and grandchildren as she was very proud of them. I fondly remember one Christmas celebration where she shared the stories of the Christmas ornaments her students made and how she hung them on her tree every year especially the ones that my sons made. She truly was a great friend and neighbor and will be missed dearly.
