Obituary of Carter James Lowry
Carter passed peacefully at the Great War Memorial Hospital in Perth on Monday, November 3rd, 2025.
He was the loving brother of Myles (and the late Anita Fleming) Kelly (Cindy Mieske), Tracy, Lannie (Kathy Carroll) and Joy (Brian Franks). He is predeceased by his eldest brother Stirling in 1967, his mother Lillian (Mallette) in 1980, his father John in 1996 as well as his sister-in-law Anita (Fleming) in 2024.
‘Uncle Perfect’ will be remembered and missed by his many nieces and nephews Stephanie, Lance, Josh, Adam, Dillon, Matthew, Joseph (Myers), Jason & Brent MacDonald, Teri-Lynn Monaghan, Lianne Saucier and Harrison (Franks).
In 1974, Carter Graduated from Loyalist College in Belleville with a Diploma in Behavioural Sciences. Immediately following his graduation, Carter worked at a Belleville based Group Home for Juveniles. After a few short years, he returned to Perth where he finished out his working years at The Brown Shoe Company Factory on the Christie Lake Rd.
Following his early retirement from the factory, Carter spent many hours driving patients to their cancer treatments as part of the Wheels of Hope Program. In addition to this, he focused on maintaining the curb appeal of his home which was his pride and joy. He was well known for sharing his ‘luvin from the oven’ home cooked meals which he delivered to many people over the years. Whether it was an act of condolence, an easy meal after being discharged from the hospital or simply a loving gesture, his excellent cooking was enjoyed by all.
Carter celebrated the many accomplishments made by his siblings and their families. He enjoyed hosting family and friends at ‘The House’ on Church Street. He was an avid supporter of the War Amps, the Cancer Society, The Table Community Food Centre, the Ottawa Heart Institute, and any organization that empowered children.
In lieu of flowers, and in memory of Carter, a donation to any of these deserving charities would be greatly appreciated.
A service will be held in the Chapel at Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W. Perth, on Sunday, November 16th at 1:00 P.M. A luncheon and Celebration of Life will follow at the Perth Lions Club Hall at 50 Arthur St. in Perth.
A private internment will be held at a later date.
