He will be sadly missed by his twelve grandchildren; Matthew, Kaitlin, Lauren, Ashley, Hannah, Joey, Owen, Ariel, Ava, Ilias, Adaya and Elora and great grandchild; Thomas James. Jim was predeceased by his younger brother, the late Gordon (Arlene) and leaves to mourn his three sisters, Marilyn (Jack), Eleanor (Doug) and Barbara (Randy) as well as many nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Lastly, James leaves behind his best friend, Sadie.
Jim was born at home in Vernon Ontario, and attended school at Springhill school. He grew up working on the family farm which came full circle when he was put to work at the neighbour’s dairy farm throughout his retirement. Jim devoted most of his working career to the heating and air conditioning trade, starting out as a technician and later on transitioning to sales and management. He took great pride in his work, he always had a project on the go and was the first to offer a helping hand. Outside of work, Jim was the goalie for the Stittsville Old Timers and coached and trained competitive hockey from Minor Hockey to Junior A.
Beyond the tools, Jim spent alot of time at the hunt camp in the winter and was either on the golf course or at the cottage come summer. Life on the lake consisted of family time, playing cards, boating, fishing and playing the harmonica on the deck.
Jim valued his family and being present for the people he loved. He continuously recognized the importance of family and highlighted how lucky we are to be able to come together. Jim will be remembered for his story telling and his distinct sense of humour.
