Obituary of Stephen James Rauche

Stephen James Rauche, survived by his wife of 44 years, Yvonne Rauche (nee Pelletier) passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, November 17, 2025. Steve was survived by his son Steven Rauche (Louise) and daughter Margot (Jordan) Mallette, and grandchildren Renee, Gabrielle and Dominic Rauche, and Evan Mallette. Steve was known for his giving nature and kind heart. He always put everyone’s needs ahead of his own, taking pleasure in the happiness of others. His love of gardening, the outdoors and fishing, while listening to music and enjoying a cold beer was where Steve was happiest. He was a strong and resilient man overcoming cancer and heart disease. He rang out the bell signifying his strength and determination. Steve will be deeply missed and loved forever. His generous spirit will live on in all of those who were lucky enough to have known him. The family would also like to thank the entire care team at the Smiths Falls site of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital for all of their efforts and compassion. Friends and family are welcome to gather for a Celebration of Steve’s Life Saturday, November 29, at the Kemptville Royal Canadian Legion Branch 212 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Smiths Falls site of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation.
