I only knew Mary through my workplace, but she was always a delight. Several years ago, when she was in the office one day, she commented on how much she liked a bright blue suede jacket I was wearing and decided that I should give it to her. She really felt that it would look very good on her .I replied that I would have to think about it. For the next few years, realizing that I would know she had an appointment and would be coming in, the first words out of her mouth entering the office were " Well, did you bring the jacket for me?" Mary never failed to amaze me. I mentioned one time that I had seen the program on the news about her work decoding during the war, how surprised and impressed I was, and with a wave of her hand she just said "oh that". Her whole life was full of accomplishments.
My sincere condolences to the family of this wonderful lady.
